Somali Environmental Conservation have launched a Campaign Against Charcoal Use in Mogadishu Somalia on –18th of April 2018.
This campaign comes in the backdrop of years-long overexploitation of the country’s biomass that have resulted in severe deforestation and other acute environmental implications.
The increasing demand for charcoal have jeopardized the livelihoods of many pastoralists, accelerating the environmental degradation and increasing the vulnerability to the impacts of climate change.
