Biodiversity Day: Preserving Somalia’s Natural Wealth for a Sustainable Future

The “Daango iyo Deegaan: Biodiversity Day” event celebrated the rich biodiversity of Somalia and underscored its importance in maintaining ecological balance. Experts in ecology and conservation Abdilatif omar Executive director of Action for Environment (A4E) and Hassan Mowlid Executive director of Somali Green peace association (SOGPA) presented on the diverse flora and fauna of the region, stressing the threats they face due to climate change, habitat loss, and human activities.

The session provided a platform for discussing strategies for biodiversity conservation, including community engagement, habitat protection, and sustainable practices.
